Personal Development Martial Arts is the brain child of Tim Tipene. A survivor of a violent and abusive childhood Tim broke the cycle through a combination of Martial Arts training, Psychotherapy and Personal Development.
Tim consolidated his learning and experience to create Personal Development Martial Arts.
In 1994 Tim started the Warrior Kids program and went on to provide it to communities and schools for over 23 years, changing the lives of thousands of children and their families.
At the same time Tim provided classes for teens and adults specialising in Self Control - Self Regulation - Mindfulness - Social Skills - Assertiveness
Emotional Awareness - Conflict Resolution
Anger Management - Fitness.
These classes are now known as PeaceMasters.

Classes run during school terms with a session each week in the evening.
Classes are limited so booking is essential as classes can fill up fast.
The classes are ongoing and students are able to continue their learning and obtain belt ranks up to Black Belt 1st Dan and beyond. Fees for classes are paid in fill at the beginning of the term and before
the classes begin.
Please Note: PeaceMasters is non-profit. Fees are kept affordable for families and do not cover the actual running costs of the program.

A survivor of a violent and abusive childhood Tim broke the cycle and became a leader in the field of personal development and stopping violence. He is highly regarded for his work in the community and for his books that deal with social and environmental issues.
In 1994 Tim started the Warrior Kids programme and went on to provide it to communities and schools for over 23 years, changing the lives of thousands of children and their families.
Warrior Kids is non-profit and for 22 years Tim ran it without
any form of community or government funding.
Tim started martial arts at the age of 12 and over 30 years accumulated a total of 12 Dan Black Belt ranks and various teaching titles. In 2013 Tim was inducted into the
New Zealand Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
Tim is a trained counsellor with a graduate certificate in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
Tim has worked in the security industry, has been a self-defence instructor for women, an advocate for intellectually challenged adults and a facilitator of Anger Management and Living Without Violence programmes for men.
Tim is the award winning author of a number of New Zealand books including 'Hinemoa te toa', 'Taming the Taniwha' and
'Haere, Farewell Jack, farewell'.
Tim was awarded a Kiwibank Local Hero Medal in 2014 in recognition of his contribution to the lives of others.
Tim has featured on television, radio and in various publications.
